Course Objectives Within the context of this course, historical development, theoretical and application doctrines of press and documentary photography will be considered. Aim of the course is teaching the principles and ethical values of press and documentary photography to the students and let them have the knowledge and practice to make noteworthy photo reportages.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • The students who succeeded in this course; May have knowledge about historical development and recent practices of press and documentary photography,
  • May evaluate the role and importance of photograph in mass media,
  • May have information about the requirements which make press and documentary photograph strong and valuable,
  • May learn the social impact of press and documentary photographs in history,
  • May have information about important press and documentary photographers and their works,
  • May make photography projects by using the information and technics they learn in this course.
Course Content Within this course, historic, theoretic, ethic and technic information about press and documentary photography will be taught to the students. In the light of these information the importance and effects of press and documentary photography will be discussed and documentary photography projects will be made.
